Nova Scotia will reopen its Express Entry PNP Stream very soon

Flag of Nova Scotia

Nova Scotia’s famous immigration stream is expected to reopen for the first time since a couple of years ago,  in the following weeks. This is an announcement the province made a while ago. The Nova Scotia Express Entry stream is part of the Nova Scotia Nominee Program (NSNP). It is one of the two NSNP streams which are connected with the federal government’s Express Entry immigration selection system.

For all of you that don’t know, the NSNP is one of Canada’s Provincial Nominee Programs (PNPs). Every province in Canada is able to nominate certain individuals who are deemed to have the credentials to settle more quickly.

What should you do?

Every candidate in the Express Entry pool is able to apply to Nova Scotia Demand: Express Entry.  The candidates must first have fulfilled their eligibility criteria for the stream. The successful ones will be able to receive 600 additional Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) points!  This will lead them to an Invitation to Apply (ITA) for Canadian permanent residence.

This Nova Scotia’s stream is just the latest such stream to become active so far during this year. Only during the recent months, Ontario, Saskatchewan, and British Columbia have been also very active in welcoming applications to their respective PNPs from candidates belonging to the Express Entry pool.

It seems Canada is strongly aiming to bring in more than 50,000 new permanent residents through the PNPs in only this year.
