377 applicants for immigration to British Columbia have received an invitation to apply to the BC Provincial Nominee Program (BC PNP). A draw that took place a couple of days ago, on March 8, is the third draw during the last three weeks. The last two draws took place on February 17 and February 23.
The invitations to apply (ITAs) sent on March 8, were issued across a range of British Columbia sub-categories. The sub-categories are managed under the Skills Immigration Registration System (SIRS). This is a system that selects candidates under certain BC PNP sub-categories.
Many of individuals that have already received an ITA can form now on submit their BC PNP provincial nomination application. The candidates must make their application through one of the enhanced BC PNP sub-categories.
Since this stream of the BC PNP is aligned with the Express Entry system, all applications that are made under this stream may receive priority processing at the provincial and federal levels. All individuals in this stream must be eligible for one of the three Federal economic programs
- Federal Skilled Worker Class (FSW)
- Canadian Experience Class (CEC)
- Federal Skilled Trades Class (FST)
Only then they can enter the federal Express Entry pool. Individuals in the Express Entry pool who already have a provincial nomination certificate from BC will receive 600 points under the Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS). This means the individual will receive in an ITA in a subsequent Express Entry draw.
