3,796 candidates belonging in the Express Entry pool for immigration to Canada were lucky to get an Invitation to Apply (ITA) for permanent residence. This draw took place today, May 4, 2017. Each one of invited candidates had a Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score of 423 or higher.
This wasn’t news since this CRS cut-off threshold is broadly in line with the other draws taken over recent months. The lowest registered threshold was 415 points in the April 19 draw.
The draw processed today brings the total number of ITAs issued only in 2017 to 39,769! The total number of candidates that have received an ITA since Express Entry was first launched back in 2015 now is 104,614.
New report insights
A recent report from Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC), has provided insights into the history of Express Entry. It has analyzed the way this fits into the growth in the total number of invitations issued. On the other hand, a decrease in the CRS cut-off threshold so far this year.
The IRCC, when analyzing the report’s results, stated an expectation that the CRS cut-off threshold should become ‘progressively lower’ as ‘the Express Entry pool is the most important source of permanent residence applications that belongs in the economic category of the Immigration Levels Plan.’
