Next week: Ontario will reopen Popular Immigration Streams

The province of Ontario

Three of Ontario’s most popular immigration streams will be opened next week. The Ontario Immigrants Nominee Program (OINP) streams are The Express Entry Human Capital Priorities stream, International Masters Graduate Stream and the International PhD Graduate Stream.

Due to their annual allocations that have been reached since Last May, these streams were paused. In addition, now is due to be rolled a new, modern online application. The Ontario’s government admitted that this new, modern application process has become much faster and efficient. Also, the new application process will significantly improve costumer care services and most importantly, to help all employers find the skilled workers they need, sooner.

The government also admitted that they will pause these streams and reopen them periodically. This, in order to be more efficient and continue the improvement process for the future.

The Ontario Immigration Nominee Program’s overall allocation will accept 6,000 applications for 2017. This is higher from 5,500 last year, and includes applications across all OINP streams.

The Immigration Minister’s word…

According to Ontario’s Minister of Immigration, Laura Albanese, immigration is key to stimulating innovation. She believes that this is the right way to help attract people to not only grow the overall workforce, but also, keep Ontario competitive in today’s global economy. The minister also added that these streams help bring more people that are qualified and have the right skills and abilities that Ontario needs to fill the labour market gaps.
